The concept of becoming “disgustingly overeducated” has been tossed around social media as a response to the rise of AI and its seeming threat to the humanities.

As a Christian, the idea of challenging yourself to become knowledgeable and well-read to the point that it’s “disgusting” is appealing, but we need to be mindful. There really is such a thing as being overeducated when it leads to arrogance, pride, and elitism—especially when it leads to leaning on our own understanding.

I took the idea of being “disgustingly overeducated” and turned it into something godly (I hope). A Mail Club for Abhorrent Wisdom is for Christians who want to be disciplined and educated while looking to God for guidance, and what is wisdom if not that? When it comes to wisdom there is no such thing as “too much.” Oh no… my lobster’s too buttery, my bible is falling apart, I seek out God too often, and I lean on His understanding and not my own. Sounds pretty abhorrent to me!
